It was a dark day for a wedding couple and their guests in the village of Kahir, in Kagarko Local Government Area of Kaduna State on Sunday night as assailants in large numbers with heavy guns shot at guests with many sustaining gunshot injuries and scores killed.
An eye witness told news men that the bandits operated in the area for hours shooting at will, stealing food items, medical supplies in the attack.
Many of the gun shot victims have been hospitalized at the General Hospital in Kagarko with many believed to be in critical conditions; according to fillers from the Kaduna State Police Command spokesman, Deputy Superintendent of Police Hassan Mansur, confirmed the attack adding that the exact number of deaths have not been ascertained and the number of those kidnapped.
Kaduna state has been among the spotlight states in the north where kidnappers and bandits have roamed freely, killing anyone that dared their authority, kidnapping and maiming their victims at will while politicians in the state are busying plotting for 2027 and paying little attention to the security of lives and property of the public.
Do you think the Federal Government and the subnational across the country particularly in the North have done enough to contain the insecurity in the country or the issue has further degenerated leading to increased deaths and kidnap of many for ransom?
